Barichello Leadership Award
About Barichello Award
We are very happy to announce that 4-H BC is now accepting nominations for the Ralph and Mae Barichello Leadership Award. This award will be given to an individual who has gone above and beyond what is expected of them in terms of community, agricultural involvement and participation in 4-H. The award will be presented at the 4-H BC Leaders’ and Key Leaders’ Conference in October in Kamloops, BC, where the recipient will receive a trophy as well as complimentary attendance to the conference and hotel stay. The Ralph and Mae Barichello Leadership Award honours the legacy of two generous people and reflects how great of an impact they had in their community.
Throughout their lives, the Barichellos were heavily involved in the 4-H community and were committed to many projects that improved the lives of others while also providing leadership whenever needed. Ralph and Mae held an impressive number of roles within their community which includes leading the Langley 4-H Jersey Club for over 25 years, maintaining a position as Chairman for the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) 4-H committee and dairy committee, president of the BC Agriculture Council, serving on the Township of Langley, serving as a Returning Officer in Langley, and were heavily involved in their local church in a variety of different roles, among many others. Ralph and Mae’s contributions have led to a legacy of improving their community while also creating positive relationships within the agriculture sector. Values such as these are what we would like to celebrate by recognizing individuals who give back to their community through serving, supporting and a commitment to the betterment of others. To nominate someone special in your community, please go to the 4-H British Columbia Website. Application cut-off is September 24th, 2021.
How to Apply
Is there someone in your BC community who deserves to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to 4-H and the larger community? Nominations are now being accepted for the Ralph and Mae Barichello Leadership Award. The Barichellos were leaders in the agricultural community for over 50 years. They were lifelong supporters of 4-H and believed deeply in the value of volunteering their time and talents in the broader community. This award seeks to honour their memory by recognizing those who have gone above and beyond in their service to the community as volunteers and leaders.
The award winner will be announced on October 16 at the 4-H BC Leadership Symposium. The recipient will receive a trophy as well as a complimentary attendance to the 2021 4-H BC Leadership Symposium held in Vernon, BC.
